Campbell Homes, Inc.

Tom Campbell, President.

If designing and building homes comes naturally to Tom Campbell, it's because he's spent a lifetime in the business. The son of a successful builder, Tom grew up learning the craft of framing, trim and brickwork. His father's skill and business sense inspired Tom to pursue a degree in construction management and to establish Campbell Homes in 1989.

A recipient of the Atlanta Home Builders Gold Professionalism Award, Tom Campbell credits this industry recognition to several factors. He begins each project with a fresh perspective and collaborates closely with his architect on all aspects of design. He continuously studies market trends to ensure that Campbell Homes have appealing floor plans and the latest luxury features. Tom Campbell understands that subcontractors can make or break the building process. When he founded Campbell Homes, he sought out the finest craftsmen he could find and has worked with them ever since.

Trend setting design, quality workmanship and exceptional customer service all add up to Tom's ultimate goal - satisfied clients. One Campbell Homes' client, who also happens to be a neighbor of Tom's, was attracted to Tom's own house - the open floor plan and unique handmade cabinetry impressed her. From the moment she stepped into his house, she knew it was right for her. Her decision was a wise one. After three years of living in her Campbell Home, there hasn't been a single callback repair. Campbell Homes' professionalism, attention to detail and reliability have truly made her home a masterpiece.

Carriage Homes, Inc.

Clark Porche, President.

Atlanta homebuyers may not realize it, but when Clark Porche strolls the cobblestone streets and grand avenues of Europe, he is thinking of them. Inspired by Old World architecture, many of Clark's custom homes reflect the magnificent estates and elegant chateaus of the European continent. While his custom homes are inspired by another era, they still possess every modern innovation today's luxury homebuyer has come to expect.

Established in 1986, Carriage Homes is Clark Porche's passion. Prior to founding Carriage Homes, he worked in the construction materials industry and developed residential subdivisions. Throughout his life and career, Clark has followed his parents' advice about striving for excellence. Perhaps that's why he exceeded Georgia requirements to become a Certified Professional Home Builder.

Carriage Homes are known for their impressive entrances and sophisticated, yet efficient, interiors. Since many of the company's homes are situated on golf courses, they emphasize panoramic views while maintaining privacy. This is achieved with expansive windows, verdant landscaping and special attention to the placement of living areas.

Each Carriage Home is personalized based on the owner’s specific requests. Carriage Homes are distinctly different. Customers often tell Clark that they can recognize a Carriage Home from those of other builders. This observation reflects Clark Porche's penchant for bringing a bit of European refinement home to Atlanta.

O'Dea Properties, Inc.

Danny O'Dea, Owner.

Longtime Atlanta resident Danny O'Dea has been building homes in this area for more than 20 years. His industry tenure includes working with some of the nation's largest builders. He is intimately familiar with the structural requirements and engineering integrity of a finely crafted custom home. Danny works closely with clients throughout the entire building process, ensuring 100 percent satisfaction and daily on-site quality inspections. This approach accounts for the fact that every O'Dea customer has provided a positive reference.

Like other Echelon builders, Danny personally supervises each job. This translates into meticulous attention to floor plans, one-on-one client meetings and sumptuous features such as the crown molding and custom cabinets that grace O'Dea homes. Danny builds only five to seven houses per year so that he may devote the necessary time to creating a custom home masterpiece.

Known for their individuality, each O'Dea home has a floor plan and elevation that is unique to that residence. Danny treats each home as if he were building it for his own family. He is driven by a passion for creativity and customer satisfaction-an approach that makes the creative collaboration between client and builder a most enjoyable process.

Torrance Properties, Inc.

Doc Torrance, President.
Jim Torrance, Vice President.

The Torrance name has been associated with quality homes in the Atlanta area for nearly 40 years. Native Atlantans and graduates of Oglethorpe University and the University of Georgia, respectively, Doc and Jim Torrance have followed in their father's illustrious footsteps. They also follow the Torrance family tradition by being longstanding members of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association.

As second-generation homebuilders, Doc and Jim carry on their father's tradition
of high expectations - from subcontractors to the masterpiece custom homes they build. As a small company, the Torrances are able to provide individual attention and hands-on involvement. This ensures proper execution of the building process.

Long before groundbreaking, the Torrance brothers fully invest their energy in a project by listening to clients and designing homes customized to their lifestyles, expectations and dreams. In every transaction, Doc and Jim strive to be fair and honorable. Repeat business and referrals come easily for the firm and are a testimony to Torrance Properties' high degree of customer satisfaction.

Hampshire Homes

José Garcia, President.

Trained as an architect, José Garcia brings a discriminating eye to the home building process. A graduate of the School of Architecture in Madrid, Spain, José moved to Miami in 1987. While living in Miami, he worked for his family's construction business, building commercial properties and custom homes.

During hunting trips to Georgia, José discovered the area's natural beauty and appealing climate. He moved to Atlanta in 1997 and established Hampshire Homes the same year. Since relocating here, José has built a series of stately homes, residing in each one before selling it. He insists on building houses he would want to live in himself. In fact, he has lived in several of the communities he has built homes in.

With an architect's eye for design and function, José distinguishes himself in notable ways. Hampshire Homes are positioned for the best use of sunlight, for example. Furniture placement is considered when designing the home and José frequently collaborates with interior designers. One of these designers became a client because Hampshire Homes was willing to work with her unique floor plan. Drawn to José's flexibility, this homeowner remains impressed by his willingness to go above and beyond Georgia's code requirements. She stills remembers the pride he took in every aspect of the building process.

During an initial client meeting, José ascertains needs and assists the individual with site selection. From blueprints to completion, he uses the best materials possible while staying within budget.

IQ Homes

Dennis Brauckman & Greg Larkin, Partners.

Luxury automobile manufacturer Mercedes Benz has a philosophy based on the phrase, "Quality is something you build." Dennis Brauckman and Greg Larkin of IQ Homes share a similar viewpoint. They believe that a quality custom home begins long before the foundation is set. In fact, a home's foundation has less to do with concrete and more to do with plan design, site selection, skilled tradesmen and an in-depth knowledge of cutting-edge construction methods.

Dennis and Greg bring nearly 20 years of engineering, construction and design experience to every home they build. Their company name, IQ Homes, was inspired by their devotion to integrity and quality. The partners maintain their high standards by being intimately involved in the construction of each home. Their personal involvement, backed by a solid team of professional craftsmen, ensures that all IQ Homes are built to the buyer's complete satisfaction, on schedule and within budget.

By definition, a custom home is one that hasn't been built before. When Dennis and Greg create a one-of-a-kind home, they design the home to take full advantage of its site and to ensure that it blends beautifully with its surroundings. This approach to home building makes IQ Homes a natural fit for Echelon's spectacular landscape.

Every IQ Custom Home represents a true collaboration between its owner and builder. Dennis and Greg always work closely with clients to incorporate their ideas and desired features. IQ Homes are not only stunning showplaces, they are a reflection of the owners' lifestyle and individuality.

Paddocks Group

Tim Ryan, Owner.

Ask The Paddocks Group why they wanted to build in Echelon and they will tell you that the community's Old World style and sense of privacy won them over. This is not surprising coming from a company that builds houses many owners describe as "magical".

Tim Ryan turns dreams into reality by imagining how people will live in a house and then visualizing the house being built. The ultimate goal is to build a home that looks like it has been a part of its surroundings for generations.

Home building is far more than fantasy, however. The Paddocks Group understands this. That's why they chose to exceed state requirements to earn Council of American Building Officials (CABO) certification as well as Certified Professional Home Builder (CPHB). Tim Ryan is acting superintendent with years of industry experience. He prefers to be on the job site, working closely with contractors on a daily basis.

The Paddocks Group counts celebrities and Atlanta executives among their customers. Perhaps this elite clientele is attracted to the Paddocks' staple features such as Sub-Zero appliances, Kolbe & Kolbe windows, RinnaiĆ continuous hot water heaters and spacious closets. Or maybe they visualize their residence appearing on the pages of European Homes and Gardens, Today’s Custom Home Magazine or the Atlanta Journal/Constitution, as have other Paddocks Group homes.

Storey Residential Properties, Inc.

Danny and Kevin Storey, Founders.

Danny Storey and his son, Kevin, founded Storey Residential Properties in 1998. A fifth-generation Atlantan and second-generation homebuilder, Danny is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in Civil Engineering. Kevin attended Auburn University; School of Business. Together, this dynamic father-and-son team offers clients more than 50 years of combined construction experience, including 30 years of experience crafting quality custom homes in some of Atlanta’s most prestigious neighborhoods.

Continuity is a company hallmark for Storey Residential Properties. Most Storey subcontractors have worked for the firm since its beginning. The fine workmanship that results from this loyalty allows Danny and Kevin to focus on customer service. They maintain regular contact with clients from their first meeting until long after the one-year warranty period expires.

That may be why Danny claims their best sales people are their homeowners. Defying the Atlanta trend toward mobility, most of the Storey Residential homeowners still live in their Storey homes. The Storey Residential Properties customer profile process may account for this. The Storeys evaluate and plan for their buyer’s long-term needs – usually looking five to ten years into the future to consider changing needs.

The mission statement of Storey Residential Properties summarizes their vision " . . . dedicated to providing quality homes that are exciting and functional; engineered to optimize value." That dedication earned the company two Atlanta Home Builders Silver Professionalism Awards - one in 2002 and one in 2005 for homes priced between $750,000 to $1 million and $1million to $1,500,000

Tuscany Custom Homes, Inc.

 John Rainone, President.

The foundation of John Rainone's successful building career was established during childhood visits to his architect father's projects. John expanded upon these early experiences when he became an attorney representing building manufacturers, suppliers and tradesmen. His decade-long legal career gave him an insider's knowledge of the industry, which ultimately lead him into residential construction on a full-time basis.

John derives great pleasure from turning client aspirations into reality. That's why Tuscany Custom Homes are built under several guiding principles. First and foremost, John hires exemplary craftsmen and refuses to compromise excellence in materials or construction techniques. Tuscany Custom Homes are known for open floor plans with numerous architectural features such as arches, columns, niches, domes and barrel ceilings. Other high-end "standard" features include Sub-Zero and Wolf Appliances, Plasma TVs, wine cellars, elevators and state-of-the-art home theaters. Each luxury home is automated with a Crestron system that controls television, music, thermostats, lighting and security cameras.

Unlike many builders, John prefers a design challenge and welcomes the opportunity to work with a unique site or innovative plan that pushes the boundaries of his creativity.
As with other Echelon builders, John has intentionally kept his firm small, focusing on the exclusive luxury custom home market. Even as Tuscany Custom Homes' president, this philosophy allows him to stay accessible to clients. Perhaps that's why many Tuscany clients become personal friends.
